Being Safe From Hackers
December 18, 2008
This article is helpful because it tells a real life experience, and shows the viewer ways of avoiding these troubles. I have personally had my computer hacked into, and had over 500 dollars stolen from me. This was a terrible experience. I want to know more ways on how to to keep my computer safe, as well as my money.

What next.

How many cool things are possible with this kind of technology? I know this has been out for a while, but one of my friends brought it to my attention that this makes him absolutely sure that we are going to have virtual reality video games in our lifetime. They already have ultra smart infrared that can tell if you are simply hovering your have over a screen. Can you imagine if these same infrared could tell wherever you were in a room and then instead of just a table being your screen, the walls ceiling and floor reacted to your movements. I can’t wait to be a lvl 80 deathknight in an interactive environment.
Self-Reconfigurable Robotics
December 18, 2008
Much like in the movies Terminator 2 or even The Iron Giant, people have been designing small robot modules that are able to construct a bigger robot out of themselves. Usually, there is just one module with a processor. However, there are problems with information transfer and size limits researchers are now trying to overcome. This, in my opinion, is a prime example of problem solving at its best.
Problem: finding the best design for reconstructing robots that allows for as many of them to link together as possible.
Solutions:
Snake design – the simplest configuration but limited in module count. Information that controls the “tail” end has to be passed from the front of the snake through all of the other modules.
Crystal Lattice design – it resembles the structure of atoms in a crystal. This patter is regular, making modeling the entire structure on a computer much easier.
One other problem that one researcher has solved is the initial way of forming the main robot out of the smaller pieces. Instead of trying to find the minimum amount of modules to make the bigger robot, he simply makes a massive lattice and lets the program select which ones to remove to make the robot. This is seen as the best possible way to form the robots.

Elevator to Space
December 18, 2008
Yes, this is right, soon there will be an elevator to space. This will allow the cost of getting equipmentinto space to be cut by 98%. This will allow us to conduct more research in space but not having the risk the lives of people. This elevator will consist of a 7 days trip and could carry as much as 200 tons of cargo. Also part of our problem with getting a spaceship to the moon is the amount of fuel that it requires. 90% of a space shuttle is fuel and will this elevator being in place we would be able to get the shuttle into space and then load the fuel from a space station. This would allow us to search farther in our galaxy and allow us to make more trips.

Online Gaming Addiciton
December 18, 2008
When we here about an addiction an online gaming addiction is one of the last things that come to mind. However, with computers become more and more in use, this is on the rise. There are signs that can be seen as if this game was a drug. This addiction mainly pertains to World Of Warcraft and Everquest. These two games have millions of players and suck the gamer so far into the game it starts to be come reality. As a parent there are some things you can do to assure that your son or daughter will not become addicted. The main thing is to limit the play time.
Windows 7 Beta
December 18, 2008
Microsoft released Windows 7 Beta only to testers. I’ve looked at screenshots, it is great. It looks just like Vista, however, it gives another feeling. It will take more time for Microsoft to release Windows 7, but I am very excited to get the product. I think Vista is somehow uncomfortable to use than Windows XP. Vista has lots of security problems and compatibility. I hope Windows 7 becomes more completed version of all the OS.
Netbook from Apple?
December 18, 2008
Some people believe that apple is going to release a new netbook next month. In this notebook market, it seems like small notebooks are trend. If Apple releases the netbook, the price will be about $800, it will make the notebook market highly competitive. Some people say that MacBook Air is the netbook that Apple already released, but I don’t think so. MacBook Air still costs too much, it didn’t make the market competitive with price. Like Apple succeeded with iPod, I hope they do a good job on the netbook.
IE7 patch is available
December 18, 2008
Last 8 days, many computers in the world have been attacked by zero-day attack. I posted a blg about the attack the other day. It’s been only 8 days, Microsoft has released a patch for IE7. It doesn’t require to restart the computer, so download the patch!
Just a little thought about hacking, I think hacking is not only a bad thing but it makes our security system better and strong. Because of the zero day attack, IE7 found a exploited vulnerability and fixed it.
Don’t Get singal FIX IT

Technology is increasing to the point we are now able to increase our cell phone’s signal. This is a nice thing for those that live in the country but would like to switch to using their cell phone all the time. This product will hurt the land-line companies but overall it is a move in the right direction. Families will now be able to pay one flat fee for the cellphone bills and use as many minutes as they would like. If you are interested in buying one you are able to follow the link.

No 99$ Apple iPhone
December 18, 2008
Apparently some things are too good to be true. It appears that rumors circulating around the launch of a 99 dollar iphone are false. Wal Mart will start selling 3g iPhones on December 28, with the 8 GB costing $197 and the 16 GB model costing $297, each with a two-year AT&T contract. This is hardly any better than the $199 and $299 respective models sold at the Apple store. I thought Wal-Mart could accomplish anything but I guess I was wrong. You would think they could devise a plan to screw over a poor populace in order to save US a few more bucks. Only two dollars in savings? I expected much more from a corporation that is so exceptional.
