Really Cool Video that shows just how fast and smart computers are getting! These particular computers create so much heat the have to be water cooled in a huge facility. What they can do in .05 seconds would take a laptop 22,000 years.

Losing the Paper Trail With Earth Class Mail
This is a new service that is now being provided for people who are simply too busy to get home to their mailboxes. Earth Class Mail now has three locations, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and now Manhattan. What they do is take customer’s mail and scan envelopes, then send a digital copy to the person. The customer can then decide if they would like to open it or leave it, even shred it. Earth Class Mail will then open the mail and send them a scanned version of the enclosed information. I think this is a pretty nice idea for business professionals that are constantly on their way to another location and need to keep up with things at home. Also just another way the world is going digital and forgetting about paper.
Accessible toys help disabled
AbilityNet is a charity whose goal is to make technology something that can be used by people with a large range of disabilities. They have started a line of toys, which are created for children who have limited motor skills. This seems like a pretty cool organization and is really impressive in the way they are creating products to fit different people’s needs. Seems like they are catering to help these kids find their place in this digital world.

Polaroid? No… Poladroid
Okay this might not be a technological break through, it won’t change your life or start a revolution… but it is fun if you are into photography… or just like to mess with pictures of friends. http://www.poladroid.net Is a sweet site I found that lets you download an application (macs only) which lets you turn your digital photos into Polaroid like pictures. You drag a file from your desktop up to the camera and it clicks and out comes a picture that you then have to wait for to appear, or you have the option to shake. It comes out with a nice effect and they generate at a high resolution so you can print them.
Apple to skip our on MacWorld?
It appears as though Apple is going to be done appearing at MacWorld after January 2009. In the last appearance next month, Steve Jobs will not even be attending and Apple is declining to say anything about his health. Possibly the company no longer needs this event to get the word out about its new products… and also they may be gearing up to start a time where Jobs does not run the show. Other top executives are being brought into the spotlight where Jobs would normally stand.

Social Networking Sites… The new form of therapy…
With layoffs growing more common by the day as this country is falling into more and more desperate times, those individuals who are now out of work are looking for comfort. If not comfort maybe just a place to vent. Many people are finding others who are in similar situations on facebook and other social networking sites. The verdict on whether this is a healthy way for people to deal with losing their jobs and being in undesirable situations is still up in the air. I think it’s important for people to at least have others to talk to, nobody wants to be alone and relationships are becoming more personal online at this point than anywhere else… At least you know there is always someone to talk to online, right?
